Jesus teaches us to Pray

In the next few blogs we will be sitting at Jesus feet as he teaches us to Pray. If you already know this material perhaps it will incite you to return to pray even more. A line from Hamlet notes The times are Out of Joint. Matthew 6:9-13 is not a prayer to be prayed but as Jesus taught.   After this manner ie: Pattern.

Our Creator,Counsellor, Confidant and Cherished Father. Romans uses the endearing term “Abba/daddyFather”

Which art in Heaven – Here is where we confess His Sovereignty and Preeminence

We get in trouble when we think the world needs to revolve around us . Love the line for JOY

Hallowed Be Thy Name –  Personal Relationship

Begin today by using points 1-2 of the Pattern

Take a few minutes to begin cultivating a relationship through childlike

Conversation . Tell God you love him and share your hurts, heart and dreams

With him .

Next  Which art in heaven – Praise Him for your Position and  place your life

Under his loving Submission . Here you will understand Rom. 8:28 where we

Learn  that All things work together for good to those that Love God .

Cessation or Continuous Theology

I may lose some ” friends ” over this post . Here we go . If it gets windy it’s because door is opening and closing as my cessation crew jumps the Graceman ship. I’ve been raised and schooled in cessation theology . There was a major conference addressing this . The premise is that miracles and the gifts ceased with the Apostles. For years I believed this until I viewed the scriptures without some Minister with an agenda trying to get me to sit around their Camp fire and discuss how the miraculous has ceased. If you study the Word without a bias you get pure refreshing truth without additives . Cessation theology will dilute your Faith. If you believe God is who he says he is and can do what he says he will do …. You are in for the ride of your life.
I have no agenda or ax to grind . I want you to believe God ( not presume upon him ) for Great and mighty things. Jer. 33:3
When I started believing right ( We are called Believers aren’t we ? ). Miracles , healing & provision became commonplace in my life . I saw my grandson go from a major head injury and coma and loss of vision to complete whole ness . He is a little abnormal . Relatives say he got that from my genetic pool and not the accident. In these crazy times I encourage you to Believe again. Remember in Israel some did not enter the Blessed land because of their unbelief. I simply believe Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever . Still doing miracles in his name ( Acts 3:16 ) Please don’t try to get me to come to the cessation camp as you believe the fire has gone out. We cannot depend on our jobs, government or anything else to take care of us. Only our God, Jehovah Jireh ( provider ) and Jehovah Rapha ( healer )

Graceman has returned.

After a move from the Beautiful Carolina’s I returned for job sake to the Maryland area . The Lord has provided us with home, job and we are Blessed . Like the prophet Habbakuk I have learned to rejoice in large times and lean times .
As I mature in age and spiritual maturity , I cherish my God , my family and the believers in Jesus aka The Body of Christ.
I am holding to my beliefs in God’s Word as I see the erosion of my civilization . I have also made a covenant with the Lord to love all believers and to seek to love lost people and introduce them into the Kingdom that will never fail or shut down.
I will be posting my thoughts and Biblical perspectives on things.
I pray that daily I can simply be more Christlike. Agape, Graceman/Earl

The God who loves us

I recently heard a teaching on God’s love from a unique perspective. I have always focused on me trying my best to love God. I do all the disciplines of the faith like reading Word, prayer, fasting etc. and I really do love God. My flesh often gets in the way. In all relationships if we would focus on others we would be better off and more fulfilled Jesus said  ” It is more Blessed to give than to receive “. Back to loving God. The teacher said if we would focus on How much God loves us  daily more than focusing on our loving God…the loving God will come naturally…..Try the thinking change. Life is Good

Life is Good

I love that saying and the neat dog on the T shirt. Only problem is that it isn’t always true. God is the one that is always good. I also am a firm believer in Romans 8:28 ” All things work together for good to those that love God and are called according to His purpose. ” I recently lost a friend to cancer. I prayed for his healing and God gave him an additional two years before going on to be with Jesus. I was bummed out about his death but not about my good and gracious God. I will grieve, he will rejoice as the pain is gone. The all things includes good and bad things. I once heard Rom. 8:28 is like baking a cake…flour,sugar,shortening  not all tasty individually but great together. The bad stuff makes us appreciate the good stuff even more. You cannot focus on the bad stuff. When I have a bad event in life, I use my memory and close my eyes and think of a good time, vacation, dinner with true friends, etc. I also have learned to keep my eyes on Jesus so that I do not sink like Peter when he got his focus on the storm and off of the Saviour. Life isn’t always good to us but our God is. Praise Him today….

Crossing Over

In a recent blog ( The Power of Christ ) I wrote about the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark was where our Lord dwelt ” between the Cherubims “.
We now have the indwelling Christ inside of us as believers. He gives us the power to live out our Faith. I am preparing to present chapter 3 of Joshua this coming Sunday to the Adult Class at Grace and I wanted to share the outline so you could be blessed. I am so excited as my daughter Kristin put my blogging app. on my iphone. This way in the middle of the night when I get the urge to write I can do it on my phone. Here is a great outline for part 1 of chapter 3 of Joshua entitled ” Crossing Over “.
We are going to Cross Over from the comfy, carnal zone to the committed zone. We will leave a life of mediocrity to a life of magnificence. It will not be an easy journey but it will be exciting to see God work supernaturally on our behalf.
1. Motivation by Inspiration – Vs. 1 We get our inspiration, fire, breath through Prayer as our Lord did when he arose early in the morning and prayed. You do not know what demons, difficulties, diseases etc. you will face. You, through prayer have the edge of God’s Omniscience ( All knowing ) and His Omnipotence ( All powerful ) .
2. Motivation by Consecration Vs. 2-4 ( We see the Ark ( Christ ) and we
devote ourselves to following Him. Remember His presence dwells with the Ark.
3. Sanctification V. 5 The Secret to Sovereign Manifestation….
Set your self apart today ( Holy Living ) and tomorrow the Lord will do wondrous things among you. I am not talking about conforming to some self righteous code of ethics forced on us by religious pharisees but releasing things that are offensive to a Holy God because we love Him and desire to please Him.
So today if we will Pray we will be inspired. If we focus on Jesus and devote our lives to Him we will abide in His presence . If we will “Detox” from the world we’ll be empowered by the fire of God’s Holy Spirit……Join me in Crossing Over today. Do not be afraid, God is with us.

Pray you all got home safe from the Fourth of July

Take a moment today and thank the Lord for the freedom and liberties we have. Many people have sacrificed so we could be free. Anything in life worth doing or having will take sacrifice. Jesus modeled a life of sacrifice. Do you have a dream or a goal you are pursuing? It will take sacrifice but the sacrifice given will benefit someone. What Jesus did for us on the cross purchased our pardon and our freedom. Celebrate every day as Christ has set us free.
